W&J’s Conflict and Resolution Studies Program presents Caroline Hughes, the Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C. Chair in Peace Studies at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

Hughes’s lecture, “Inequality, Authoritarianism, and Ecocide: Are Contemporary Global Crises Really Local Issues for Conflict Transformation?” is free and open to the public.

Hughes has conducted field research in Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. She has spent two decades studying the post-conflict reconstruction of Cambodia following its civil war in the 1990s. She is the author of six books and more than 30 articles and book chapters. The talk is a part of the Walter K. Levy Lecture Series and a featured event of W&J’s International Week.
