Johnson ’94 \nSaturday\, May 18th\, 2019\n220th Commencement Ceremony\nJames David Ross Family Recreation Center\nDoors open at 8 a.m.\, ceremony begins at 10 a.m.\nKeynote Speaker: Alexa Hirshfeld\, co-founder and CEO of Paperless Post\nStudent Speaker: Zach Pellis ’19 \nBaccalaureate Service\nThis ecumenical service is a ceremony that is focused on reflection. The Baccalaureate Service is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday\, May 17\, 2019 at the Church of the Covenant in Washington\, Pa. Families are invited to attend the Baccalaureate Service; there are no tickets for this service\, but seating in the church is limited so you are encouraged to come early. The doors to the church will open at 4:30 p.m. \nFollowing the Baccalaureate Service\, there will be a celebratory reception for students and families on the Rossin Campus Center patio. \nCommencement Ceremony\nThe 2019 Commencement Ceremony will be held in James David Ross Family Recreation Center on Saturday\, May 18 at 10 a.m. Families are invited to attend the ceremony; tickets are not required for this event. \nDoors to the Ross Recreation Center will open at 8 a.m. A hospitality center with complimentary coffee\, water\, and Danish will be available in the lobby of Henry Gymnasium. \nFollowing the ceremony\, a picnic reception will be held in The Commons and in George & Tom’s Grill. \nCampus Store Commencement Weekend Hours\nThe W&J Campus Store in the Rossin Student Center will be open during commencemt weekend. \nFriday\, May 17th: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. \nSaturday\, May 18th: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. \nFor more Campus Store information\, please go to the Campus Store page. \nPhotography and Videography\nA photographer from Island Photography will be at the ceremony to take a candid photograph of each graduate receiving his or her diploma. You will receive a free copy of this photo in the mail within 5 to 7 days. At age 23\, Hirshfeld and her younger brother created an e-commerce company that would soon reach over 85 million users and employ more than 100 people in New York and London. She has been named one of Fortune’s “10 Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs”; Fast Company’s “Most Influential Women in Technology”; and Forbes’ “30 Under 30.” A 2006 graduate of Harvard University\, she is an outspoken advocate for the liberal arts and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in classics.
