Nard is the Galen J. Roush Professor of Law\, and Director\, Center for Law\, Technology & the Arts for Case Western Reserve University School of Law. His talk\, “Becoming a Patent Lawyer: Representing the World’s Creators” is Nov. 15\, 2019 in the President’s Dining Room in The Commons. A reception will be held at 11:30 a.m. and the talk is at noon. \nNard graduated from W&J in 1987 as a chemistry major. He received his JD degree from Capital University Law and Graduate Center in 1990\, where he was Articles Editor for the Law Review. Subsequently\, he attended Columbia University School of Law\, receiving his LLM in 1995 and JSD in 1999\, and where he was the Julius Silver Fellow in Law\, Science\, & Technology from 1994 to 1995. Between 1995 and 1996\, he was a Judicial Clerk for the Hon. Helen W. Nies for the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington DC. In 1996\, he clerked for the Hon. Giles S. Rich for the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington DC. Nard has written and lectured widely throughout the country and the world. His book\, The Law of Patents\, is the most widely adopted classroom book in American law schools for patent law.
