SUMMARY:Poetry Reading - James Davis May and Chelsea Rathburn
DESCRIPTION:Join the English Department for a poetry reading that will feature James Davis May and Chelsea Rathburn on March 10th\, 6:30-7:30 p.m.\, in the Media Room. \nJames Davis May is the author of Unquiet Things\, named runner-up for the Georgia Author of the Year Award in poetry. His poems have appeared in Five Points\, The Missouri Review\, New England Review\, The Southern Review\, and elsewhere. He has received scholarships and fellowships from The Sewanee Writers’ Conference\, Inprint\, and the Krakow Poetry Seminar. He is Writer-in-Residence at Mercer University and a 2021 National Endowment for the Arts Fellow in Poetry. \nChelsea Rathburn is the author of three full-length poetry collections\, most recently Still Life with Mother and Knife\, a New York Times “New & Noteworthy” book. Her poems have appeared in the nation’s most esteemed journals\, including Poetry\, The Atlantic Monthly\, The Southern Review\, and Ploughshares\, among others. In 2009\, she received a poetry fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts\, and in 2019 she was appointed poet laureate of Georgia.
