WASHINGTON, Pa. (Nov. 5, 2013)—Interested in gypsy jazz music?

Join Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) Nov. 7 as the Olin Fine Arts Center Theatre hosts a concert by The Hot Club of San Francisco at 7:30 p.m.

The Hot Club of San Francisco plays the gypsy jazz music of guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli and the original Hot Club de France. This unique jazz form recalls Paris in the 1930s and offers a swinging beat with a sweet melody. The Hot Club performs many of the original works by Reinhardt and Grappelli and incorporates original works by guitarist Paul Mehling and violinist Evan Price. Other composers such as Claude Debussy and “Jelly Roll” Morton make appearances as well.

An evening with The Hot Club of San Francisco offers a night of unforgettable music.

There will be a “talk back” with the musicians following the performance.

Tickets for Arts Series events are $12 for general admission, $10 for senior citizens over 60 years of age, W&J alumni and non-W&J students, and $7 for children 12 years of age and under. Season tickets are also available.

A variety of additional theatre, music, and art gallery events are scheduled throughout the school year. For more information about Olin Fine Arts Center, tickets and a schedule of events, call 724-223-6546.
