Transfer Credit
It is very important that the courses you have completed prior to coming to W&J are reviewed before a determination can be made that you will receive course credit for them. If you would like to know what courses may be accepted please contact Samuel Stanton, Assistant Director of Admission, in our Office of Admission. The Registrar’s Office, in conjunction with the Office of Academic Affairs and department chairs, will determine which courses will transfer into W&J. Any course accepted from another college will be recorded as credit by the Registrar.
Washington & Jefferson College typically accepts three-or four-credit college-level academic courses (with course descriptions similar to W&J offerings) with grades of a C- or above from an accredited institution for transfer credit. No more than 16 courses from other institutions may be applied toward W&J's graduation requirements. Only grades attained at W&J will be used to compute a student's grade point average. A student must complete 16 courses at W&J to obtain a degree.
