WASHINGTON, PA (June 11, 2018)—Kendyl Keddal ’20 knew she wanted to find a supportive community for her college experience, she just didn’t immediately know that would be at Washington & Jefferson College (W&J).
Kendyl transferred to W&J in the fall of 2017 at the beginning of her sophomore year to pursue a major in Spanish and minor in biology.
“I decided to transfer to W&J after visiting the school and seeing the opportunity to be a part of a supportive college community as well as to study abroad,” she said. “So far, my experience at W&J has taught me a lot about myself as a student and as a young adult. My favorite thing about this college is the close-knit community and personal interactions in the classroom that you might not find in a larger school.”
Kendyl has found herself immersed in campus activities—even some she didn’t initially picture herself being a part of, like Greek life. As a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, she’s found she can lean on the support of strong, positive women, and gain inspiration from her sisters.
Because of the motivation from her professors and peers, Kendyl feels she has been given the tools to succeed.
“W&J has given me a supportive and encouraging environment where I am pushed to be the best version of myself every day,” she said. “W&J is the right college for me because while I can always talk to my professors and advisors who are there to help me at any time, I also have the freedom to independently create a fulfilling future for myself.”
