Cathy Petchel is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Washington & Jefferson College. She is the Founder and President of Baywood Consulting LTD, a private practice dedicated to client care. She conducts presentations, in-services, and workshops regionally, nationally and internationally. She has accumulated more than 35 years of experience with nearly two decades of work specializing in Bipolar Spectrum Disorders and disorders of mood and anxiety. Her service work includes: Executive Board for the International Society of Bipolar Disorders (Advocacy Task Force, Community Engagement Task Force, and Co-Chair for Pediatric Initiative); Mental Health Association of Allegheny County (Chair of Mental Health Association of Allegheny County Executive Board, member of Esprit Award and of Advocacy committees); Pennsylvania Psychological Association (Chair of Leadership and professional Development Committee, Office of Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce Member, Interpersonal Violence Task Force); and co-chair of the Washington & Jefferson College Chapter of Active Minds.
