WASHINGTON, PA (March 27, 2019)— As her senior year comes to a close, Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) English major Molly Riley ’19 cannot help but ponder what legacy she will leave.
“I want to be remembered for my vivacity and love for W&J. This school has made me an incredible person and I felt that I could always be myself along the way,” she said.
Molly is a Camerata singer, a writer for the Wooden Tooth Review (W&J’s Literary Magazine), a member of Sigma Tau Delta English and Phi Alpha Theta History honor societies, and a student worker in the Office of the Registrar. In addition, she has served as a resident assistant for the Office of Residence Life since her sophomore year. The position left an indelible mark on Molly.
“I was seeking something that would get me involved. In return I have found my family,” said Molly, who is the RA for the Pet House and is frequently seen on campus with her beloved dog, Lola. “Having her has enriched my experience at W&J and made me a better person all around.”
Opportunities at W&J allowed Molly to study abroad in Aberdeen, Scotland at the University of Aberdeen.
“International opportunity was one of the most intriguing aspects of W&J that ultimately aided in my decision to come here,” she said.
Molly hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in English Literature and/or Gender Studies with the goal of becoming a professor and helping young people, “find their passion in life.”
