Washington, Pa. (Nov. 11, 2013)—Networking is an increasingly important tool in job searching, and Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) has created an event to give its students an extra edge.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, the W&J Alumni Executive Council and Office of Alumni Relations will host an Alumni & Student Speed Networking event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Allen Ballroom of the Rossin Campus Center.

Designed in the vein of “speed dating,” the event will immediately connect W&J juniors and seniors with alumni in various fields of employment.

More than 40 alumni plan to attend the event, and represent numerous companies, including: State Farm; Peacock Keller & Ecker LLP; Mass Mutal Financial; Schenider Downs; California University of Pennsylvania; Washington & Jefferson College; The Ellis School; Bradford Schools; Office of Disability Adjudication; Ernst & Young LLP; Bowles Rice LLP; Bayer; Sisterson & Co. LLP; Yablonski, Costello, & Leckie, P.C.; and Avella School District, among others.

While alumni will have the opportunity to interact with the future bright minds of their industries, students will learn effective networking techniques in a fun, high-energy atmosphere.

A reception with drinks and appetizers will follow the speed networking portion of the event, giving students more time to make connections with alumni in their fields.

Five spots are still available for current W&J juniors and seniors to register.
