Two W&J Groups to Host Drag Bingo! May 2

In October 2013, Washington & Jefferson opened its doors and welcomed a very unique event to campus - Drag Bingo! With bingo already being a favorite activity at W&J, the Diversity Programming Board (DPB) thought we would broaden the minds of students by adding drag to the picture.

We partnered with the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) and brought in Lady Rose Amore of Pittsburgh and Danyel Vasquez of Akron, Ohio to host. The event promoted pride in self-identity and encouraged living a healthy life with representatives of W&J Health & Counseling Services and Adagio Health in attendance.

Because of the large crowd and fantastic feedback, DPB and GSA are teaming up again to bring another Drag Bingo event to campus with a little twist this time. Along with our hosts from last year, we will have a show with students, faculty, and staff participating, too! There will be singing and lip-syncing, comedy, and plenty of audience interaction as you play bingo to support a great cause - all proceeds will benefit the Washington County Gay-Straight Alliance to support LGBTQ youth in the Washington area.

Drag Bingo and a Show will take place on Friday, May 2 at Washington & Jefferson College.  Doors to the Rossin Ballroom will open at 7 p.m., and the event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and seating are limited, so get there early!

Ticket prices at the door are $5 for the W&J community and $10 for those with no W&J ID.

So if you wish to have an unforgettable night of drag, we better see you there!

Please contact DPB President Jeffrey Germak (germakjr@jay.washjeff.edu) with any questions.
