WASHINGTON, PA (August 7, 2013)— When John Watts ’13 was looking to transfer, his “checklist” for choosing a new college was simple.

John was “looking for the challenge of a rigorous academic program" that would prepare him for his future.  W&J exceeded his expectations as John graduated this spring—having already secured a job.

“There is no doubt that I made the right decision to become a President.  The great education and the personal mentoring I received at W&J helped me develop the skills and confidence to secure multiple job offers before graduation,” he said.

W&J is committed to helping transfer students every step of the way.  The dedicated staff understands the importance of helping someone find the school that is the best fit and helping students through the entire process.

Director of Admission for Transfer Students Karen Gerardi individually works with each student from day one.

“Whether you are considering transferring from a community college or a four-year institution, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you,” Gerardi said. “I highly encourage you to schedule an interview and go on a student led tour.  Experience what is truly special about W&J first-hand.”

Students can transfer to W&J with confidence:
• Students can transfer up to 16 courses, which would give them junior class status.
• It is free to apply!
• Merit and need based assistance is available for accepted students.
• All students have a personal academic advisor.
• Consistently, over 91 percent of graduates are employed in their field or begin graduate
school within 6 months of graduation.

W&J currently holds articulation agreements with the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) and works individually with students who have completed college level work at other institutions.
