WASHINGTON, PA (March 4, 2019)–Nine math students (Frances Sinclair, Alexas Iams, Caitlin Guthrie, Cheryl Fergerson, Madison Lydic, Taylor West, Andrea Martinez, Jeremy Glasner, and Jeffrey Wilkinson) and five math faculty members (Ryan Higginbottom, Robert Muth, Kim Jones, John Zimmerman, and Roman Wong) attended the National Joint Mathematics Meeting (JMM) in Baltimore in January 2019. The following presentations from our students/faculty were on the Program and the Abstract publication of the conference.

- Jeffrey Wilkinson ’22: A Vector Proof of de Gua’s Theorem (Independent project in MTH 208 Multivariable Calculus with Wong.)
Saturday Jan 19
- Justin Moccaldi ’01 and Roman Wong: An Ancient Chinese Problem and Two Sequences (Moccaldi is a 2001 graduate in chemistry and is currently working at Komantsu in Canonsburg)
- Madison Lydic ’19 and Ryan Higginbottom: Equilibrium patterns in the candy-sharing circle (Summer research work of Madison Lydic with Higginbottom)
Due to the forecasted snow storm that weekend in January and for the safety of the students, the group decided to come back to W&J on Friday, one day ahead of schedule, leading to a cancellation of the Saturday presentations.
