WASHINGTON, PA (June 4, 2019)—At Washington & Jefferson College (W&J), we pride ourselves on our partnerships with other institutions that provide pathways to higher education for students, both at W&J and beyond. Through our partner program with YES Prep Schools in Houston, Texas, we are able to connect with an outstanding group of scholars and provide educational and extracurricular opportunities for these students.

At the end of the year, we had a conversation with our graduating seniors about their experience in the program. While we’re sad to see them go, we’re so proud of the work they have done at W&J. We asked business administration major and financial economics minor Dat Le ’19 some questions about his time at W&J. Here’s what he had to say:

Q: What were your feelings coming to W&J from a YES Prep School?

A: I was very nervous to be far away from home. I knew I wanted to go out of state, but not having your family by your side is very nerve-racking.

Q: What event in the YES Prep Program at W&J do you feel had the greatest effect on you and why?

A: The Yes Prep get-together meetings impacted me the most. At the meeting, there would be other Yes students who are also in my shoes. It is always great to sit down and talk about everything with them.

Q: What are your plans following graduation?

A: My plan after graduation is to go back to Houston, Texas to find a job in the investment banking industry.
