Dr. Bayline teaches courses in neuroscience, developmental biology, and foundations in biology at W&J. His research focus involves the evolution of muscle development, using an insect model, the moth Manduca sexta, as a model. Dr. Bayline has mentored many students in research projects that use anatomical, physiological, and molecular biological techniques. Recently, Dr. Bayline has started to pursue bioinformatics and other computational approaches to study muscle development.
